Turbina holubii is listed on MPI Plant Biosecurity Index as “Basic” for the importation of: 1. Seeds for sowing, and 2. Nursery stock: comprises whole plants, including tissue cultured plants, or parts of plants imported for growing purposes, e.g. cuttings, scions, budwood, marcots, off-shoots, root divisions, bulbs, corms, tubers and rhizomes. “Basic” means no border entry restrictions are required (eg Phytosanitary certification or post-entry quarantine) other than it being clean and free of soil or other contaminants, adequately packaged and named (Genus species). Presumably someone at some stage applied to import Turbina holubii for cultivation and sale as an ornamental. A weed risk assessment was undertaken for Turbina corymbosa in 2008.
